Director of Operations Manufacturing - Dietary Supplements

Paragon Laboratories is a leading manufacturing company of Dietary Supplements in tablet, capsules and powders forms. We are located in the Torrance area and seek an experienced Director of Operations for immediate hire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing manufacturing company which distributes globally. The successful candidate must have significant experience in a GMP compliant manufacturing environment of nutritional supplements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, schedule and review workload to ensure production and packaging output is manufactured correctly in accordance with specification to ensure on-time delivery targets.
- Seek opportunities to improve production processes so that equipment is operating at the optimum utilization.
- Proven track record related to coaching, training and development of your staff.
- Responsible for optimizing Supply Chain Management including Purchasing and Materials Management.
- Ensuring that the factory floor has the necessary manpower competence, skill, knowledge, and equipment required to achieve production targets.
- As part of the management team you will also be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets and overall business goals.
- The job role may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.
- The role carries direct managerial responsibility for equipment, and facility maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years experience as Director of Operations in a nutritional supplements, cosmetics or food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding and proven record in the processes and procedure related to the manufacturing of dietary supplements tablets, capsules and powder forms in a contract manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP Systems, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Degree preferred.
- Facility Safety experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks timely and accurately.
- Ability to forge strong, trusting and collaborative relationships.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines required.
- Demonstrated judgment and decision making ability.
