Overall Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the design, layout, build, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems in a manufacturing environment. Job duties included, but are not limited to:

Essential Job Functions:

·         Build, modify, or develop controls, integration, and electrical portions of manufacturing equipment

·         Provide schematics/documentation of electrical control systems utilizing AutoCAD Electrical

·         Perform electrical troubleshooting and reading electrical schematics

·         Participate in daily production team meetings

·         Discuss machine operation variations with managers or maintenance team members to diagnose problems or machine           repair

·         Read shop orders and maintain records of completed orders

·         Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times

          Operate a forklift and maintain a forklift license

·         Maintain clean and organized workstation; complete 5S checklists

·         Work individually or with team members as assigned, maintaining a positive work environment

·         Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Control or related field of study preferred; 4 years of equivalent work experience will be considered
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Interfaces (HMIs), Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems, Pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and the National Electric Code required
• Good understanding of NFPA 70E and basic wiring techniques
• Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and three phase systems
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and reading electrical schematics
• Knowledge and experience with Rockwell Software (Logix 5000, FTVS, RS Linx, etc.)
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical

·         Ability to travel to other VT facilities as needed

·         Ability to work 8-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week

·         Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, coworkers, and vendors

Physical Requirements

Tolerance for sitting long periods of time.  Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator.  Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal.  Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional moderate lifting (50 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required.  Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to climb up or down ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. Ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
