The Visual Design Specialist is a part of our graphics and visualization team and develops material to support our engineering, survey, CM, and landscape architecture pursuits. This role specifically manages technical geospatial requests and translates technical data into a visual experience that clients and community members can relate to and understand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with the graphics and visualization team to plan, develop, and deliver technical visual content for internal and external customers.

Works with all levels of professionals, from intern to executive, to translate data and produce visual content for proposals, projects, and client-specific community communications.

Works with project managers and other technical staff to visually enhance technical images to make them more appealing/bring them to life.

Translates and converts technical data and images into 2D and 3D exhibits and other project renderings from industry engineering software for proposals, projects, and community communications.

Implements and maintains a general workflow process as developed by the Visual Design Manager, while striving to improve and streamline those processes.

Produces maps and visual content (including aerials), and other communications by using CAD/GIS information and geospatial software as needed for proposals and projects.

Optimizes flexibility and scalability of final products.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Associates or bachelor’s degree in graphic/visual design, visual communications, etc. is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in design graphics; Experience with a A/E/C firm is preferred.

Demonstrated experience in data visualization, infographics and data reporting; Strong knowledge of current data visualization tools and graphics/geospatial software.

Strong knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD Suite, 3DS Max, the Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection, ArcGIS, GlobalMapper, and SketchUp.

Deadline driven; ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate critical deadlines.

Ability to work under pressure, closely track details of multiple projects and interact with staff at all levels.

Ability to work independently as well as a contributing member of the team.

Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities.

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The base compensation range for this position is $29.00 - $40.00 per hour.
