The Design and Drafting Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining all master plans for Nielson Construction and all related business entities, ensuring that all master plans are accurate and up to date with current building codes and industry standards. This position will also implement and maintain the software connection between the design department and the prefabricated walls division. Experience with Revit is required, and AutoCAD and Chief Architect experience is a plus. The Design and Drafting Specialist will consistently work with the product development and operations teams to support all  projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design new plans for KN Construction and create 3D renderings of all master plans. Materials and colors must be accurately represented.
• Maintain all existing KN Construction master plans including verifications, moderations, or alterations to fit conditions of a specific lot or sale contract.
• Point of contact for the product development and operations teams regarding the designing of new plans and maintenance of existing plans.
• Obtain and manage the proper surveys for each project.
• Studies building codes and regulations to ensure that all KN Construction plans are complying with the latest regulations.
• Review and modify truss designs for each of KN Construction's plans.
• Implement and maintain a software connection between the prefabricated walls division and the design software utilized by KN Construction.
• Regularly prepare and deliver reports on all projects and their status.
• Additional job responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of design and drafting experience is required.
• Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD is required. Chief Architect experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of building codes and ADA.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and Acrobat.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads, be flexible, and solve problems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
