    Gift Accountant

    Job Summary
    Daily reconciliation and verification of receipt of all contributions and correspondence


    Essential Job Duties
    • Mail, online, transfer of stock, electronic transfers, etc.
    • Daily processing of contributions using the Raiser’s Edge (RE) database
    • Cash, securities, insurance premiums, web payments, pledges, etc.
    • Daily processing of receipts and acknowledgements to all constituents
    • Daily preparation of transmittal to the Office of Business & Fiscal Affairs
    • Maintaining an accurate chart of accounts (gift reconciliation) with accounting
    • Communicating with existing and potential donors
    • Research/Reporting
    • Manual and electronic filing of documents
    • Flexible in accepting additional assignments and willing to work extended hours during peak periods (specifically during events and at the end of the fiscal and calendar year)
    • Prepare daily and weekly reports of gifts received
    • Complete timely follow-up as needed to resolve discrepancies

    • Professional in conduct and appearance
    • Must have the ability to maintain donor confidentiality
    • Fully knowledge of CASE (Fundraising Reporting) and FASB (accounting) Regulations
    • Must have the ability to identify and prevent audit findings
    • Bachelor’s degree with experience in accounting and business administration
    • Two to three years of relevant experience with database management (preferably Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software)
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Moderate to advanced proficiency using The Raiser’s Edge/Net Community or other fundraising software/CRMs

    • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
