Position: Cost Accountant - Business Planning Administrator

TS Tech is a global supplier of automobile seat & interior trim, with operations in 14 countries. Our production is expanding & requires team players to join our TS Tech family at our New Castle Indiana location (TS Tech Indiana. LLC.) We have an immediate opening for a Cost Accountant in our Business Plan department.

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of business planning tasks implemented based on Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle. Good understanding of 5P and capable of analyzing issues with the method.

Native level of Japanese language (read write and speak) and business level of English language (read write and speak) are a MUST. Work experience of Accounting and/or Cost Accounting field is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cost Accounting

• Analyze the production costs and diagnose the finance issues for improving the company’s profitability and determining the company's financial needs or goals for the future and how to achieve them.
• Manage applications of cost accounting principles to conduct studies, which provide detailed cost information for each section to work on for process and efficiency improvement.
• Improve and maintain system to calculate real-time in-house cost for finished goods, parts, and per line basis, and review progress and ensure improvement.
• Calculate and review labor rates for each section and work cell, and various overhead rates to identify potential bottleneck of causing inefficiency to manpower and task efficiency.
• Create and review product profitability report for new/current models to management including a break-even point analysis between the sales and fix/variable cost to ensure profitability of each new model.
• Support the cost accounting unification project for the entire TS Tech organization.

General Duties

• Assist and report to Business Planning Manager in furnishing monthly “budget vs. actual” variance analysis, and cost accounting information, presented to President for further management decision and/or North America headquarters.
• Prepare periodical reports submitted to the Japanese headquarters.
• Communicate with each department as the liaison of Business Planning to promote their daily activities scheduled in Action Plan project and other Business Planning initiated projects.
• Act as a primary liaison of promoting office for new model status meeting and quarterly business planning report evaluation meeting.
• Document translation/ interpretation.
• Control Business Planning assigned documents.
• Support development of 5S and Kaizen programs.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Good understanding of practices and procedures within a JIT manufacturing environment
• Strong MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint skills
• Japanese Bilingual a plus
