Planning Director directs and oversees the patient service planning function for a hospital or healthcare system. Performs analysis of trends in healthcare and makes recommendations for new services or changes in existing services. Being a Planning Director supports feasibility analysis and new program planning. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Planning Director typically reports to top management. The Planning Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Planning Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Uses customer demand and capacity information to prepare the Master Production Schedule. Coordinate with production departments to achieve the schedule.

    Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

    7. Control of returnable/expendable packaging programs.

    8. Registration of new bearings.

    9. Bill of Material registration and maintenance.

    10. Sample scheduling and coordination.

    11. Kanban Maintenance.

    12. Application of JIT principles in daily production planning process (load leveling, Kanban, pattern planning, etc.).

    13. Assist in accomplishing main PC and Plant targets to reduce internal and external lead-time.

    14. Lead communication and reconciliation efforts with direct material suppliers in regards to on-time delivery.

    15. Raise issues to Production Control Manager as needed in a timely manner.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    • Direct experience with Lean Production concepts and tools.
    • Flexible working hours, overtime and travel required.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in logistics/supply chain or related field.
    • Manufacturing experience

    • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas. This requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
    • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
