Planning Director directs and oversees the patient service planning function for a hospital or healthcare system. Performs analysis of trends in healthcare and makes recommendations for new services or changes in existing services. Being a Planning Director supports feasibility analysis and new program planning. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Planning Director typically reports to top management. The Planning Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the General Manager primary duties are to assist in short- and long-term transportation planning and reporting efforts related to organizational goals and the analysis of related impacts and costs. Also supervises Special Programs unit of the agency.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Level 6: Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Level 6: Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Level 5: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Level 5: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
