Primary Purpose of the Role
Primary backup to the Production Planning Lead and Sample Office Clerk. This position works closely with the Plant Management Team and Sales to ensure customer order deadlines are met. This position must follow OSHA and Hoffmaster’s safety procedures, policies, and regulations.
Essential Job Duties
- Monitor the day-to-day production planning activities as directed by the Production Planning Manager
- Support the Work Order process from start to finish by preparing Work Order Kits, which includes printing work orders, preparing plates, and collecting completed work orders on a daily basis
- Assist with the coordination of production planning and schedule with Production Planning Lead
- Primary Plate Runner. Will cart/move Work Order Kits to their scheduled Work Centers on a daily basis
- Responsible for the organization and inspection of product samples
- Manages sample logistics, which includes Pack, Unpack, Track Shipments etc.
- Responsible for organizing samples turned in on a daily basis by Production Team
- Check for quality prior to fulfilling order request and report any issues to the Production Planning Manager
- Prep and build Sample Kits and have them readily available to fill orders
- Implement Min/Max System of Sample Kit Inventory
- Support and enforce good housekeeping practices
- Assist where needed under the direction of Production Planning Manager
- Must be able to Bend, Reach, Pull, Push, and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds
- Position will require occasional work on weekends
- Create a positive work environment
- Knowledge of general office technology/computers
- Knowledge of computer programs, including MS Office and ERP/CRM systems
- Knowledge of basic math skills
- Skill in organization, attention to detail, and time management
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making
- Skill in building and maintaining internal and external relationships
- Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and motivated to improve processes
- Ability to be patient and adaptable to unforeseen changes
- Ability to prioritize rapidly while utilizing problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain records, review document for accuracy, and organize, document, and track documents
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and company management
- Work safely – previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is preferred
- Punctuality
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
