Plant Accountant jobs in Chillicothe, OH

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate preparation of Center biweekly payroll including printing and distribution of checks, calculation of earnings, coding, journal entries, maintenance of automated YTD earnings records, and the necessary supporting documents and external reporting requirements.

Ensures accurate weekly preparation of Center and Assessment Services accounts payable checks including printing and distribution of checks, coding, journal entries, after acquiring proper payment verification to support the disbursements.

Maintains Center and Assessment Services general ledger on a monthly basis and prepares required monthly reports and other internal management reports as required.

Ensures completion of necessary fringe benefit payments records, including health, disability, life insurance, retirement, unemployment and workers’ compensation.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with two (2) years related experience; or five (5) years related experience of related experience in a similar position; or combination education and experience. Previous payroll and accounts payable experience preferred. Must have valid Ohio driver's license.
