Plant Accountant provides accounting services for a plant. Responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Being a Plant Accountant complies and prepares analysis and reports of accounting activity and data. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and reconciliations. Additionally, Plant Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plant Accountant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Reviews and prepares accounting documents and validations reviewed by or sent to the Plant Controller or Corporate (SAHQ). Executes accounting and analysis activities which may include the Plant’s financial planning, capital and operating expense budgeting or forecast and statistical reporting. On a day-to-day basis, calculates, processes, posts, verifies, and maintains data for Valero Renewables.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Valero's Bluffton ethanol plant is located in Bluffton, Indiana, about 30 miles south of Fort Wayne. The bio-refinery sits on 422 acres and started ethanol production in September 2008. The facility uses a dry-grind production method and state-of-the-art technology to maintain industry-leading standards in production, safety, product quality and environmental stewardship. The Bluffton plant annually processes nearly 45 million bushels of corn into 130 million gallons of denatured ethanol and 340,000 tons of distillers grains co-products.
