Plant Accounting Manager manages all financial control and accounting activities of a plant including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll. Ensures the plant's financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Being a Plant Accounting Manager monitors plant operation results against operating plans and direct the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs. Leads the plant financial and capital budgeting process. Additionally, Plant Accounting Manager recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. May require a CPA. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Accounting Manager will perform a variety of duties in line with the business objectives of Community Action. The manager is also responsible for the oversight of daily accounting operations of the agency. The Manager is also responsible for all agency assets including the including vehicles and buildings. This position will oversee finance specialist(s) and will report to the Finance Director. This is a full time, salaried exempt position.
JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Supervise and train staff; provide adequate support to each staff member, including evaluating staff performance. Conduct routinely scheduled 1-on-1’s.
2. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, donations, payroll, bank reconciliations, purchasing, and adjusting journal entries.
3. Work with Finance Director to create capital needs assessments (CNAs) and capital budgets for agency facilities. Manage calendar of capital replacements and annual maintenance needed.
4. Review, approve, post and print checks for all operational accounts payable.
5. Understand program and agency budget to ensure expenses are charged properly and income is received properly. Make recommendations when transactions need to be moved to other revenue sources.
6. May assist with Annual A133 audit, W2s, 1099s, budgets and other reporting as directed.
7. Provide back up support to Finance Director as needed.
8. Track all assets in compliance with financial policies.
9. Procurement, disposal, and licensing of agency owned vehicles.
10. Ensures proper insurance and security is maintained for agency assets.
11. Act as Primary contact for vendor relations for finance and asset management.
12. Promote a healthy, transparent, professional, and kind work environment.
13. Participate in meetings and trainings as needed or required and serves as a member of the agency’s Leadership Team.
14. Other related duties as assigned by management.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Starting Wage between: $5,800.30 - $6,400.99 salary per month (DOE)
