Plant Accounting Manager manages all financial control and accounting activities of a plant including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables and payroll. Ensures the plant's financial control processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information. Being a Plant Accounting Manager monitors plant operation results against operating plans and direct the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs. Leads the plant financial and capital budgeting process. Additionally, Plant Accounting Manager recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. May require a CPA. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Plant Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Accounting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

    How You'll Perform the Role


    This position is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership and management of our Yakima, WA plant. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations and regularly reports on plant performance.

    Direct reports to this position include all plant salaried staff including but not limited to Superintendent/Operations Manager, Manufacturing Supervisors, Office Manager, Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager, etc. Indirect reports include all hourly employees at the plant.

    • Prioritize Employee Safety and Safety Compliance
    • Ensure product quality and customer satisfaction with order fulfillment
    • Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and management methods to generate improved plant performance and workflow optimization and efficiencies
    • Responsible for plant engineering and maintenance (equipment and facilities)
    • Responsible for inventory and materials management
    • Capital planning and implementation
    • Overall budget, spending, and headcount
    • Assess and manage salaried staff and hourly employees within the plant

    What We Need From You
    • College degree in Engineering or Business typically required.
    • A minimum of 10 years of plant management level experience in high volume, fast-paced manufacturing and operations.
    • Well-rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, strategies and best practices and process discipline.
    • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Track record of excellent judgment and decision-making ability.
    • Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
    • Ability to effectively set and communicate expectations & directives to manufacturing staff.
    • Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems.
    • Demonstrated presentation skills, as this role will be interfacing with executive level management, along with large customers.
