Sets policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant General Manager systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals. Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant General Manager ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Leads labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Oversees multi-functional plant teams including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant General Manager manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Plant General Manager typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. The Assistant Plant Manager oversees shipping and receiving functions and the team. Direct reports include all warehouse staff. The Assistant Plant Manager would coordinate all processes, managing KPI and ensuring the quality of goods within the facility. Apply and manage all safety policies and procedures set by OPB. The Assistant Plant Manager should be able to optimize warehousing best practices and be an effective team leader.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping-
• Coordinating the training of processes and guidelines set by OPB.
• Tracking and coordinating the on-time receipt, storage, and shipping of all goods and materials.
• Maintaining supplies and keeping suitable inventory levels by reporting needs to the General Manager.
• Maintaining records, reporting relevant information to the General Manager, and preparing necessary documentation.
• Working with the Leadership team on continuous improvement projects.
• Coordinating with the General Manager on all projects and requests from other departments and customers.
• Reporting any safety or maintenance concerns to the General manager.
• Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds.
• Partner with the General Manager on Temporary staffing needs.
• Coordinating and maintaining forklifts, yard trucks, and equipment checklists, reporting all needs and or repairs to the General Manager.
