Plant General Manager directs, manages, and optimizes a plant or production facility's overall operations and financial performance (P&L). Sets policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant General Manager systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals. Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant General Manager ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Leads labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Oversees multi-functional plant teams including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant General Manager manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Plant General Manager typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. POSITION OULINE:
The Asphalt Plant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the asphalt plant(s) and tasked to manage the plant(s) in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.
• Oversee set up of asphalt plant(s) and get fully operational.• Manage all asphalt plant staff. • Coordinate daily schedule with dispatch for ordering of materials and production of material.• Manage costs, overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the plant(s).• Report on plans, sales, costs and performance.• Ensure operations remain in compliance with all applicable environmental standards. • Ensure that employees are working efficiently and consistent with company policies and guidelines. • Consistently monitors areas to ensure safety and assure safe working habits and conditions. • Manage and control all expenditures associated with the plant(s). • Manage Quality Control technician and schedule all material testing with appropriate departments.• Manage and respond to customer inquiries and/or needs.• Oversee daily batching operation.• Develop and implement new ideas to increase productivity and lower costs.• Operate Equipment in plant when necessary.• Manage upkeep and condition of all equipment at plant.• Manage health and safety as well as security at plant.• Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policymaking.• Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training.• Travel to each location as required. • Other duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 5 years of related operations, supervisory and construction experience.• Level 1A and Level 2 Certificates• Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and have excellent follow-through capability.• Verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position.• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.
