We are seeking an HR leader who will provide leadership and strategic direction for the Human Resource function for all company sites and will report directly to the company President with influence at the highest-level of the organization. 

    As a Human Resources Manager you will: 

    • Direct the overall talent management strategy, including overseeing recruiting as-needed 
    • Oversee employee and manager training and development in various stages of the employee lifecycle 
    • Direct and administer performance management and compensation planning
    • Develop and direct company policy and administration to stay up-to-date on HR legalities 
    • Oversee employment law compliance and regulatory concerns and reporting
    • Supervise or perform duties to administer the compensation and benefit programs  
    • Increase employee morale by planning employee events and implementing recognition programs
    • Maintain and administer all employee personnel files and data through paper files and HRIS
    • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
    • Manage workers compensation claims
    • Contract with third-party vendors/administrators to provide employee services
    • Direct the Environmental Health and Safety function using an external vendor
    • Advocate for the contracted Safety Specialist and ensure the Safety function is championed internally
    • Oversee and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis
    • May assist other managers in other duties or special projects as needed

    Competencies important for this role:

    • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation
    • Strong ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate with others when handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
    • Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications
    • Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others 
    • Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
    • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
    • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
    • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and hiring employees
    • Experience in providing guidance and direction to subordinates
    • Experience scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as team collaboration
    • Demonstration of a high degree of confidentiality and overall business operations understanding
    • Experience with time management software, HRIS software, and Microsoft Office software

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 8 years of related experience in all facets of Human Resources
    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or a related field
    • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification or interest in pursuing further education
    • HR team supervisory experience
