    Human Resources Manager

    Responsibilities

    Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy and corporate HR Strategy.

    Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    Manage the recruitment and selection process.

    Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.

    Provide business leaders with coaching and guidance to manage through employee relations matters, to include conflict avoidance. Uphold confidentiality and conduct investigations in a manner to elicit trust in the process and role.

    Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.

    Maintain pay plan and benefits program.

    Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of client group HR data by overseeing routine data audits and communicating importance of data quality control as the HR team processes changes. Provides management with key HR metrics (turnover, time to offer, etc.) and developing actions to drive improvements.

    Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.

    Achieves Results and Brings Out the Best in People by:
    Providing leadership and support to HR department staff.

    Collaborating across California sites

    Offering constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance and individual development.

    Qualifications

    Required Education/Certification:
    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

    Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred.

    Required Experience:
    7 – 10 years' experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility as a HR Manager and or Business Partner with strong understanding of California legal requirements.

    5 years’ minimum experience managing projects and programs, experience using proven project management and change management principles.

    Demonstrable experience with HR metrics.

    Familiar with and comfortable using HRIS software such as Workday/ ADP/ SAP.

    Required Skills / Abilities:
    Ability to develop reputation as someone sought out for their opinion and advice and who can forge and maintain close relationships across all constituencies.

    Self-motivated; bias for action.

    Critical thinking skills, ability to dissect complex problems and make informed decisions by evaluating several different sources of information objectively. Strong ability to analyze, be creative, problem solve and empathize.

    Experience with driving employee engagement and positive employee relations with all levels of employees.

    Effective active listening, negotiating, and influencing skills.

    Experience working across a complex organizational matrix and with all levels in the organization.

    In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.

    Strong professional maturity / judgment and accustomed to dealing with confidential situations.

    Preferred:
    Bilingual – Spanish

    Manufacturing, shop-floor experience
