Plant Inspector inspects finished products for conformance to specifications using fixed or preset measuring instruments. Checks for irregularities and ensures that final products conform with established tolerance levels for quality and performance. Being a Plant Inspector documents all instances of non-conformance and rejected products in production reports. Prepares required inspection certifications. Additionally, Plant Inspector requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Plant Inspector works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. · Entering orders placed by customers within 24 hours of receiving PO
· Proactively recommend updated products to customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transactions profitability.
· Facilitator for Production Control to ensure production schedule maintained, orders expedited as necessary, past due issues communicated.
· Double check others orders as assigned
· Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
· Recommend alternative product, newer technology or competitor equivalent based on cost, availability or specifications
· Educate customers about terminology, features & benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
· Present price, delivery, credit and freight terms in accordance with standard work instructions, written or verbal.
· Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel
· Answers incoming telephone calls, determine purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department
· Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable
· Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information
· Welcomes visitor access and issues passes
· Updates appointment calendars
· Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications
· Maintains fax machines, assists users, send faces, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes
Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating
Education and Experience:
· A high school diploma or GED
· No experience necessary
Physical Working Conditions:
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Working Environment:
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
