Plant Inspector inspects finished products for conformance to specifications using fixed or preset measuring instruments. Checks for irregularities and ensures that final products conform with established tolerance levels for quality and performance. Being a Plant Inspector documents all instances of non-conformance and rejected products in production reports. Prepares required inspection certifications. Additionally, Plant Inspector requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Plant Inspector works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position will be responsible for supervising the activities pertaining to the accounting and reporting of all transactions involving natural gas plant accounting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervision of a gas plant accounting function that includes supervision of up to 7 team members.
    • Problem solve and ensure group requirements are being met on a daily basis.
    • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) for all plant accounting issues.
    • Plant Accounting/month end close experience
    • Review daily system generated error reports and ensure proper steps to resolve are being taken at all times.
    • Lead the month end close process for volumes for the group. Ensure all product & locations are properly tied out on a daily / monthly basis.
    • Participate in additional special projects as required.
    • Lead Maintain and update company changes and address changes in TIPS
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
    • Minimum of 8 years work experience
    • Five years of experience in TIPS
    • Relevant midstream accounting experience (Natural Gas Plant Accounting, TIPS) either as a Lead level accountant or an accounting supervisory role.
    • Understanding of business transactions and appropriate accounting and payables procedures
    • Ability to effectively lead a team and manage projects in a collaborative fast paced team oriented environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Expertise with Excel and other Microsoft applications
    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

    • Usually, normal office working conditions.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
