Accounting Assistant

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Location: San Diego County, CA (Hybrid, must be able to commute once a week to the office)

Job Type: Part-time Temporary 

Hours & Time Period: 20-30 hours per week for 4-6 months

Career Stage: Associate Professional (2-5 years experience)

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports to: Finance & Accounting Manager

Pay Range (national): $24.03 - 33.65/hour  USD. 

Final offer will be adjusted on market rate based on your specific years of experience, skillset qualifications, and geographic location.

OUR NEED

We are searching for a passionate and empathetic Accounting Assistant who will be the primary person to support the Finance Team by processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports. Your responsibilities may include assisting with accounts payable and donations, reviewing financial documents, maintaining financial records, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure accurate financial data entry. Attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software, and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role. In collaboration with the rest of the Finance & Accounting team, your primary objective will be to adopt a culture that provides unwavering support, motivation, and appreciation for our team members, through thoughtful and intentional collaboration and support. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main job responsibilities under this position are the following:

• Reviewing bills and supporting documents for payment and processing payments
• Facilitating bank deposits weekly and batching deposits in the accounting system
• Pre-reconciling donations and bank transactions
• Reviewing credit card transactions
• Updating incoming donation tracker 
• Assist with audit requests or Hive projects

WHAT WE'LL LOVE ABOUT YOU

The following qualifications and competencies are preferred:

• Experienced with Quickbooks Online
• Experienced with Google Workspace apps (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, etc)
• Experienced with Excel
• Experienced with Hive project management system
• Tech savvy
• Educated in Accounting and Finance
