Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. We are looking for a reliable Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws. You will be responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace. As a safety manager you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. You will be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety. Must be current on MSHA Part 46, must have MSHA train the trainer 500 and 501.
Responsibilitie
Assist foremen when needed all shifts. Develop and execute safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
Conduct daily safety meetings, safety stand downs, new hire safety orientation, inventory and maintain PPE, conduct 10 hours & 30-hour construction training, first aid & AED as needed.
Some weekends assist in making changes to SOP to align with site procedure requirements
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes
Recommend solutions to issues. Improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics
Attendance and dependable (update annual compliance programs)
Skills
Track certifications also being available across all shifts
5-year experience construction safety on large projects as safety manager
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
Ability in producing reports
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
Degree in Occupational health and safety, Engineering, Environmental Safety, or related fields
Incident Investigations (5 Why’s)
Risk Management and / or Safety Management certifications
CPR Certified Instructor
OSHA Certification: 500, 501,
MSHA Trainer
Meeting with safety reps
Ordering supplies
Administering drug screens
Knowledge of appropriate safety emergency protocols
Over see SMS (Safety Management System)
Ensure SDS management systems are maintained and current
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of state & federal safety guidelines
