Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Summary/Objective
As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of a manufacturing plant with approximately 100 employees. This role involves overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and personnel management. You will report directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain and you will lead a team of 5-6 direct reports to ensure the plant's performance aligns with company goals and objectives.

This position has five direct reports – Environmental Manager, Plant Engineer, Plant Superintendent, Plant Technical Services Manager, and Scheduling & Shipping Manager.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust, and some chemicals, and moving mechanical parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and non-skid shoes.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, kneel and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, with various hours. This position regularly requires long hours and some weekend work.
Travel
This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is within the local area to other plants.
