Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Your primary duties and responsibilities will be:

    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and promote a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with safety leadership to organize training programs on safety protocols.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the wood production team.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wood composite decking manufacturing plant.
    • Collaborate with planning group to execute production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resources.
    • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.
    • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
    • Collaborate with planning group to manage inventory levels to meet production requirements and minimize waste.
    • Lead and motivate plant personnel to achieve production targets and quality goals.
    • Provide coaching and development opportunities to plant staff to enhance their skills and performance.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as sales, procurement, and logistics to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
    • Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
    • Manage plant budget and expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

    Required Experience: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • 15-20 years professional experience with 7 years of experience in manufacturing leadership.
    • Demonstrated success in same or similar role, with a focus on managing personnel and processes. Siding, Composite, and/or plastics processing experience, preferred. 
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
    • Experience & background developing and driving lean culture and methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage a diverse team and foster a positive work environment.
    • Solid problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with production planning, inventory management, and budgeting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on optimizing processes and driving efficiencies.

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets.  The annual salary for this position ranges from $130,000 in our lowest market up to $170,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable.  The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
