Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Supports the plant manager in scheduling and planning the safety, quality, and production efforts to achieve operational objectives for our Murata Vortex Yarn Spinning Operation in Clarkton, NC

    The role

    • Drive the safe work culture by ensuring compliance with all company and legal regulations.
    • Meet or exceed key metric expectations related to Environmental, Health and Safety KPIs (recordable incidence rate, lost time incident rate, severity rate)
    • Meet or exceed all key performance indicators for Murata Vortex Spinning Operation, to include actual production vs. forecast/scheduled production, machine efficiencies, waste generation & control, financial performance, quality levels, and employee engagement and retention.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve performance and grow profitability of the operation.
    • Evaluate and develop talent within the manufacturing organization to build year-over-year sustainability and succession strategies.
    • Develop and execute strategic capacity growth and process improvement opportunities to maximize yarn output and cost containment.
    • Work collaboratively with Human Resources and other functional areas of the business to drive employee engagement and satisfaction. Work with teams to develop and implement action plans that drive employee satisfaction and retention

    What you bring to the role

    Knowledge & Professional Experience

    • 7 years of direct textile manufacturing leadership experience and a 4-year university degree in engineering or textiles is preferred. Other experience and educational backgrounds may also be considered.

    • Bilingual (Spanish) is desired
    • Vision is required to operate a keyboard and to read/analyze complex data
    • Hearing is required to hear instructions, communicate with customers via phone, and to hear/understand safety warnings
