Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Kitchen Fresh Foods is GROWING and we NEED YOU! Our new facility located at 1555 Glory Rd in Green Bay has recently opened and we are looking for an experienced Plant Manager / Operations Manager. This position will will champion people & food safety, optimal employee relations and continuous improvement through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the operation activities.  The incumbent will ensure all food preparation and packaging is compliant to the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety regulations.  Oversee and own the performance of the Plant Operations as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, cost control, service to sales, employee training and leadership development. A flexible schedule to accommodate shifting priorities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare departmental costs and variances with regard to productivity, short and long-range planning, labor scheduling, product scheduling, raw materials, packaging supplies, product weights, sanitation and housekeeping.
    • Organize and facilitate production line activities to ensure conformance to establish requirements regarding quality, safety, employee-relations, productivity and cost scheduled volume outputs
    • Monitor and update all area practices and policies for compliance.
    • Prepare, distribute, and follow-up with regard to all established records, reports and/or forms
    • Ensure strong, effective communication across functions and with employees, vendors and government regulators
    • Monitor productivity data and help develop corrective action plans necessary to achieve annual productivity improvements
    • Implement safety measures for accident prevention through weekly near miss reporting and monthly safety audits working with salaried Supervisors to ensure hourly employee compliance
    • Report on quality defect issues and help determine necessary corrective actions to eliminate repetitive failures
    • Work with Maintenance department and Production Supervisors to identify, research and implement cost savings
    • Manage Production Supervisors and be flexible between shifts, fill in as needed for Production Supervisors/Managers
    • Work with Staffing Agencies and Kitchen Fresh Staffing Coordinator to identify and fill positions as needed
    • Ensure accuracy in production and quality records
    • Assist Production Supervisors and Managers with incident reports/investigations
    • Continue to build upon the quality and safety culture
    • Oversee giveaway & waste in production area, develop effective programs for reduction
    • Review timeclock & complete wage increase for production employees
    • Adheres to and complies with all food safety, food quality and GMP policies
    • All other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Food Technology, or related degree is strongly preferred
    • 10 years of industry experience with progressive management duties.
    • 5 years of management experience. Servant leader disposition
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Experience operating in an ERP-based production environment.
    • Awareness of and experience with food and people safety, including industry standards such as SQF as well as FDA and OSHA standards.
    • Business and financial acumen with the ability to comprehend and analyze numerical and statistical data to drive operational decision making.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
