Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Our business manufactures and distributes organic plant care products across multiple markets. Reporting to the Director, the role will be accountable for the smooth operations of production, supply chain, logistics, and compliance.

    Roles and responsibilities :

    • Turn seemingly complex daily operational issues into actionable plans and project roadmaps.
    • Implement both micro and transformational process improvements across supply chain, production, logistics, and warehouse management.
    • Manage the smooth onboarding and fulfilment for key retail customers
    • Refine the team structure by hiring, managing, and training direct reports.
    • Work closely with the Growth Marketing Manager, National Sales Manager, and CEO to build annual and quarterly plans, and deliver core projects.
    • Identify and solve human resource issues.
    • Manage and report on OpEx budgets.
    • Maintain accountability for overall margin goals.
    • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to upper management.
    • Manage the supply chain team to ensure that inventory levels are maintained, and materials are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Oversee warehouse efficiency to maintain optimal supply chain operations.
    • Manage strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors, including the negotiation of supplier terms, lease agreements, and other business contracts.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to mitigate potential issues.
    • Perform quality controls and monitor production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
    • Delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations.
    • Demonstrated operations experience in a fast-growing $10M-$20M revenue business.
    • Experience working in hybrid business models (i.e. both manufacturing and distribution).
    • Experience in fulfilment in both e-commerce and Big Box retail is highly regarded.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional project management, systems, and process skills.
    • Impeccable people management skills, including conflict management, task allocation, and performance management.
    • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
    • A natural quick learner with the ability to self-teach when needed.
    • Capable of adjusting strategies or processes in response to changing business environments or unexpected pivots.
    • Motivated by self-improvement and business growth.
