Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Position Summary:

    This position is responsible for the overall product technical direction for commercial vehicle linkage products. Responsibilities include product design authority, customer applications, research and development, business development, field support and manufacturing support.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)

    • Develop product strategies:

    - Identify customer needs through technical benchmarking, customer contact, and monitoring global

    vehicle developments

    - Identify world-class product enhancements by monitoring developing technologies

    • Manage the design, prototype development, and testing of new product technology and current product enhancements
    • Institute product design authority and establish requirements for current product adaptations and applications
    • Manage customer technical contact for product application and installation, field support, reliability and warranty
    • Coordinate design improvements to reduce cost and improve manufacturability
    • Develop and implement cost improvement projects in North America
    • Provide product cost proposals for new business, including input into strategic customer pricing
    • Provide technical service functions including print control and bills of material
    • Manage and/or support product launch programs
    • Develop global product strategies
    • Comply with all Company policies
    • Promote and ensure compliance with all established health & safety procedures and practices

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Support supplier development activities
    • Forecast and control department budgets in North America
    • Develop technical and business skills of department personnel
    • Provide support and planning assistance for TRA technical activities

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree in engineering or related field preferred
    • Ten years experience in product/manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of commercial vehicle systems
    • Knowledge of polymers, metals and elastomers
    • Strong planning and analytical skills
    • Knowledge of statics, dynamics and stress analysis
    • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
    • Green Belt (GB) Certification preferred
