The Plant Manufacturing Manager will oversee the overall operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring that production processes run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and safety protocols are followed. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Nylabone Operations, the Plant Manufacturing Manager must have hands-on experience with industry equipment (injection molding/extrusion), demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be proficient in developing strategies to drive continuous improvement.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
- Hands-on knowledge and experience with technical injection molding process, quality, tooling, and materials management systems.
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Analyzes and directs OEE and labor logistics to achieve optimum machine/ labor efficiency.
- Works with and develops interdepartmental relations and strategies to ensure overall plant safety and organization.
- Ensures training matrix is maintained and yearly training takes place in a timely manner.
- Set achievable production goals and follow through with weekly supervisor meetings.
- Resolve employee disputes and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff and scheduling needs.
- Remain in compliance with facility ISO standards and all HSE guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
- Experience as plant manager and/or manufacturing leader within the manufacturing industry, preferably food/edible raw materials. They must have the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and engage the team through expertise and coaching.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, best practices, industry-standard equipment, and technical expertise.
- Must have previous experience in Injection Molding or Extrusion.
- Demonstrate strong management skills and willingness to “roll up their sleeves” to get the job done.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Should expect to be highly visible on the production floor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, analyzing data, and making data-driven decisions.
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
