Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Overview:

    This position is responsible for managing all aspects of production to include managing employee and equipment performance while maintaining consistent safety standards and quality standards within a positive work environment. This position is also responsible for initiating, implementing and evaluating continuous improvement projects.

          

    Essential Functions

    Oversee safety programs and ensure employees are appropriately trained on all applicable safety measures

    Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process and educate production employees on quality procedures and company standards to ensure customer satisfaction 

    Ensure all company documentation related to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), monthly safety meetings, production and quality are complete and current

    Control the inventory level to minimize working capital, support sales activities and meet monthly production objectives

    Coordinate with Operations Coordinator on sales order production scheduling. 

    Lead direct reports on the implementation and ongoing monitoring of production plans, goals, and continuous improvement initiatives

    Coach and develop employees to include performance management metrics and disciplinary action

    Identify training needs and initiate training programs that are aligned with company objectives

    Promote and encourage good communication with the employees, allowing for a positive, empowered environment.

    Monitor Inventory Levels and complete Monthly Cycle counts for inventory accuracies.

    Complete daily data entry and maintain documents and reports.

    Punctual and reliable attendance

    Other tasks and responsibilities may be added at management’s discretion

    Requirements

    Leadership-Ability to organize and motivate crew(s) toward a common goal through facilitating cooperation and appropriate delegation of duties. This position is responsible for the daily management of the production team.

    Communication-Actively listens and provides regular, consistent, and meaningful information and expresses the message effectively by organizing and delivering information appropriately

    Teamwork-Promotes and facilitates cooperation and commitment within a team and across teams to achieve goals and deliverables

    Analytical- Using a logical reasoning process to break down and work through a situation or problem to arrive at an outcome

    Problem Solving-Resolves problems by identifying the information needed, considering multiple sides of the issue, and creating a logical approach for an appropriate solution

    Dependability-Punctual and fulfils work and time requirements by adhering to work schedule and complies to attendance and leave policies and plans accordingly for absences

       

    Travel

    This position may have occasional local travel using personal vehicle. 

       

    Education

    High School Diploma or equivalent 

       

    Experience

    3 years’ supervisory experience in an industrial environment 

       

    Certifications / Licenses

    Maintain current driver’s license
