Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     ABOUT YOU:

    We are seeking a plant manager to lead and direct the production, maintenance, and quality assurance functions of our Quincy, IL production facility. This proactive, forward-thinking leader will orchestrate the coordination of all manufacturing departments’ functions to ensure compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a direct, hands-on management style, and be exceptionally detail oriented. You must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence with a genuine interest in helping Wis-Pak succeed.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    • Create and implement strategic visions to improve production, quality, safety, and labor utilization throughout the facility.
    • Drive effective utilization of plant resources including people and equipment.
    • Lead and collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities.
    • Develop and implement innovative methods of manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve quality of the product.
    • Apply lean manufacturing principles to design, specify, and validate world-class manufacturing processes to achieve organizational goals.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing operations of production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments.
    • Ensure that all production line schedules are in accordance with plant capabilities, customer requirements, economic performance, and planning, expediting as needed.
    • Direct and manage the establishment and maintenance of material replenishment methods, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives.
    • Budget and manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget allowance., and continually pursue cost-reduction opportunities.
    • Create documentation protocols and ensure that all operations records are properly maintained and reviewed.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business, engineering, or related field.
    • 3 years of plant management experience
    • 3 to 5 years of food and/or beverage industry experience
    • 3 to 5 years of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong process orientation
    • Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
