Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Job Duties: The Plant Engineering Manager will manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary studies related to the economic feasibility of engineering projects. Based on mine requirements, the role will develop engineering and construction plans to be carried out by the Plant’s engineering department. The Plant Engineering Manager will: review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding engineering projects; manage projects and serve as a subject matter expert on large and complex site planning and construction projects, including expansion and modifications; counsel site management on the applicable processes, practices, and existing or proposed local, state, and federal regulations; strategize site planning and budget for designated engineering areas; assist in budget preparation by providing supply costs and recommendations; lead the plant’s engineering department in the design of projects, fabrication of equipment, and construction of projects; advise on-site engineers throughout project work; and use AutoCAD to design mine drawings. Must be able to walk over rough terrain, sit, climb ladders and stairs, squat, kneel for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in extreme heat or whether conditions and must be able to work with chemicals.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Project Engineer. 3 years’ experience developing the scope of mining projects through identifying requirements and reviewing drawings and data sheets; 3 years’ experience working with consultants, vendors, and contractors to advance mining maintenance and operations; 3 years’ experience operating mining equipment and processes; 3 years’ experience working under Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and environmental regulations.
