Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Production Planning:
- Develop comprehensive production plans based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Continuously monitor and adjust production plans to optimize resource utilization and meet customer delivery deadlines.
Resource Allocation:
- Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently to support production schedules.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Anticipate and resolve resource constraints to minimize production disruptions.
Schedule Management:
- Create and maintain production schedules, ensuring adherence to lead times and delivery commitments.
- Monitor production progress and address any deviations from the plan promptly.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to prioritize production activities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain quality standards for wire harness products.
- Implement procedures for inspecting, testing, and certifying products at various stages of the production process.
- Take corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the production workflow.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze production data and metrics to evaluate performance against targets and identify areas for enhancement.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Facilitate clear communication and collaboration among production, engineering, quality, and other relevant departments.
- Provide regular updates on production status, performance metrics, and potential risks to senior management.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the production team.
Qualification:
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource management, financial planning, accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Wire harness industry and contract manufacturing experience are preferred.
- Willingness to travel daily to the manufacturing facility in Mexico, with the ability to manage responsibilities effectively across locations.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using software tools for production planning and scheduling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across borders and cultural differences.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while ensuring operational excellence.
