Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production of dress uniforms while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of success in manufacturing management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Production Management:
    • Plan, organize, and direct all manufacturing activities to ensure timely production of dress uniforms according to customer specifications.
    • Develop and implement production schedules, workflows, and procedures to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
    • Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs

    Quality Assurance:

    • Maintain strict quality control standards throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that all garments meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement quality assurance protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address any deviations or non-conformities promptly.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of manufacturing personnel, including supervisors, operators, and support staff.
    • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning to maximize employee engagement and performance.
    • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the manufacturing team.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among all employees through training, communication, and enforcement.

    Supply Chain Management:

    • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize lead times, and ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
    • Must be proficient in both English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate in both languages.
    • 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the apparel or textile industry.
    • Proven track record of success in leading manufacturing operations, driving process improvements, and achieving operational excellence.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
    • Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement concepts.
    • Experience in piece-rate pay systems.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems, manufacturing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
