Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Plant Operations Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary:
    TekCom Resources, Inc is currently recruiting a Field Services Operations Director/Sr. Manager- Inside Plant You must have an ISP/CO/Datacenter/Cable background for this direct-Hire position with one of our customers in the Jacksonville, FL area. 
    As the Field Services Operation Manager/Director – Inside Plant you must comfortable “getting into the weeds” when needed and comfortable interacting with an existing customer base to define scopes and MOPS top drive the projects in addition to mentoring team members and managing P&L.
    Experience in the deploying Inside Plant for  Internet Service Provider, Data Centers or the Central office world is required.
    We are looking for someone with a telecommunications background in the Inside Plant and/or COEI (Central Office Equipment Installation) arena. Experience with project management, supervising a workforce, site-specific design, and engineering, working with and writing MOPs (Methods of Procedure), and interfacing with customers are all required skills for this position.

    This is an excellent opportunity to develop and grow with an established company. You’ll be working directly for the COO to take over the Day-to-day Operational leadership.
    Experience in the Internet Service Provider, Data Center, Central office world is required.

    Role:
    You’ll be working with and leading the Engineering team and customers to drive site design work and develop client specific MOPs. You’ll be reviewing bids from contractors, acting as a single point of contact for customers customer’s and assisting with managing project schedules, supervising, coordinating and dispatching the  nation-wide team of field engineers, and tracking and coordinating project activities to ensure all aspects of the customer’s requirements and performance standards are met.


    Responsibilities:
    • Leads day to day oversight of production and quality assurance related to installs, customer outages and safety in accordance with standards/guidelines/regulations.
    • Develops Job Design and scope of work pertaining to specific jobsites.
    • Architecture of jobsite-specific MOPs to guide field engineers in implementing Job Design.
    • Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
    • Works with Service delivery for internal and ensures resolution of these items in a timely fashion. (
    • Develops, tracks, and maintains production and quality metrics for the ISP engineers.
    • Completes status updates and completion reports on installs, service calls and outages.
    • Maintains and orders inventory for all installations.
    • Provides technical support for Field Operations and other departments.
    • Responsible for employee management including; leading, developing, training and mentoring the field services team.
    • Manage colocation and data center As-Built/Rack Diagrams/DLRs and incorporate into change process
    • Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adheres to high quality standards and meets customer expectations
    • Document all Quality Assurance and Inspection activities.
    • Develop and update costs and accuracy of Bill of Materials (BoM) used for construction and install estimates
    • Update assigned project and all relevant notes, dates, and requirements in project/CRM tool
     
    What will catch our Eye:
    • Minimum five years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry, specifically the COEI field.
    • Construction /Deployment experience with head-end installation of routers, CMTS (cable modem termination system) and other broadband equipment for telecommunication
    • Experience with Job Design and MOP Architecture
    • Experience with collapsing and decommissioning central offices
    • Previous P&L responsibility
    • Must be able to read blueprints, Fiber AutoCAD and other technical drawings and documents.
    • Possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
    • Willingness to occasionally travel throughout domestic US as work dictates.

    • Self-starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve in even the most challenging environments.
    • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues to contractors and fellow employees.
