Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Plant Operations Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     What You'll Do

    Communications Security (COMSEC) Operations Support position in the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Y-12 Communication Security Center (COMSEC) located at Oak Ridge, TN. Position provides support for all COMSEC operations, Classified Help Desk Operations, Computer Access Authorizations, and Classified Entrust/Token Deployments, and is responsible for receiving, inspecting, identifying, storing, labeling, maintaining and disbursing/shipping all COMSEC equipment (STEs, Minis, TACLANES, OMNI Secure Terminals, Vipers, etc.).

    Responsibilities include:

    • Manage on-site COMSEC custody transfer of COMSEC items, equipment inventory and material handling and control procedures.
    • Team with and provide support to Classified Network Operations, Enterprise Secure Network (ESN), Synchronized Account Request Automated Process (SARAPE) For Sandia National Laboratories, including monitoring, Memorandums of Understandings, Maintaining the Y-12 DomainName System, issue and control of all Classified Terminal Control Box Keys including configuration and connectivity issues are established on the Classified Network, Classified Help Desk Operations, Computer Access Authorizations, CNS Maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve classified network, classified user accounts,
    • RSA Token deployments, Entrust, TACLANE, and crypto problems.
    • Train various personnel on Communications Center duties and accounting procedures per the DOE Order 470.6 and National Policy.

    The job position currently requires regular business hours support based on 4x10 hour shifts Mondays-Thursdays, and may also include some occasional scheduled Friday and weekend shifts as required for the customer. Also, might include infrequent call-in assistance for troubleshooting during off-shift times.

    Minimum Job Requirements
    • Associate degree in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma and 8 years of relevant experience.
    • Must possess basic technical knowledge of computers, networks, cyber security, and general IT environments
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel databases
    Preferred Job Requirements
    • Associate Degree with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience in computing, networking support, Communications Security (COMSEC), and/or computer help desk support at Y-12.
    • Candidate must possess the education/skills, or be capable of developing such in a timely manner, an in-depth understanding of classified material control, National Security Agency (NSA) Electronic Key Management System (EKMS), classified communications, crypto-security, secure videoconferencing, personnel security record management and account management
    • Work experience in Y-12 classified environment
    • Possess excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
    • Starter and have the ability to quickly pick up and learn software tools
    • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and be able to multitask
    • Ability to work effectively and handle multiple concurrent tasks in a fast paced, demanding business environment, and to remain calm and composed under stressful conditions
    • Be reliable and productive in working independently with customers one-on-one via phones or in-person
    • Be a proven team player dedicated to providing top level, positive customer service delivery
    • Have a strong work ethic, be committed to customer success in their use of IT, and demonstrate a passion to ensure high customer satisfaction
    • Experience with Remedy help desk ticketing application; knowledge and familiarity with customer service support best practices
    • Willing to follow written and verbal instructions from team leader and supervisor

    Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

    Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
