Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Plant Operations Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     How You'll Perform the Role


    This position is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership and management of a manufacturing plant. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Manufacturing and regularly reports on plant performance. Direct reports to this position include all plant salaried staff.

    • Prioritize Employee Safety and Safety Compliance
    • Ensure product quality and customer satisfaction with order fulfillment
    • Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and management methods to generate improved plant performance and workflow optimization and efficiencies
    • Responsible for plant engineering and maintenance (equipment and facilities)
    • Responsible for inventory and materials management
    • Capital planning and implementation
    • Overall budget, spending, and headcount
    • Assess and manage salaried staff and hourly employees within the plant

    What We Need From You
    • College degree in Engineering or Business typically required.
    • A minimum of 5 years of plant management level experience in high volume, fast-paced manufacturing and operations.
    • Well-rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, strategies and best practices and process discipline.
    • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Track record of excellent judgment and decision-making ability.
    • Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
    • Ability to effectively set and communicate expectations & directives to manufacturing staff.
    • Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems.
    • Demonstrated presentation skills, as this role will be interfacing with executive level management, along with large customers.
