Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Fortera is searching for a Plant Operator for our newly built computer-controlled pilot plant located in Redding, CA. For this position, plant operation experience is desired but not necessary. Candidates with innate intelligence and capacity to learn how to run the plant safely and efficiently will be strongly considered. This role is suited for someone willing to learn pilot plant operations with ideally hands-on mechanical maintenance and construction experience. During the plants operation, the person will follow Standard Operating Procedures and will be involved in maintaining and upgrading the plant as needed to accomplish the technology development.
Our technology and plant operations are unique. We will we provide the necessary operations training. The position requires work shift flexibility with a 24-hour operation, ability to make intelligent process decisions, and always maintain safe work practices.
This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.
