Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Weekend work is required. Openings available on days, nights, and overnights. The Knoxville plant specializes in the production of Dry Sausage items including PILLOW PACK® pepperoni.

    Incumbents are responsible for learning a wide variety of jobs and duties across our plant such as : grinding, batching, and stuffing products, operating forklifts, slicing, boxing, and palletizing product, verifying quality and accuracy of products, all while making people safety and food safety the number one priority.

    Job Responsibilities :

    • Follow all company rules for food safety and employee safety.
    • The ability to read and write to complete job related paperwork.
    • The willingness & ability to drive a forklift consistent with company standards.
    • The ability to use a computer to complete job related tasks.
    • The ability to perform repetitive hand & wrist motion throughout a shift.
    • The ability to lift / push / pull 50 lbs as required throughout the course of a shift.
    • The ability to twist and bend the body as necessary to perform job related tasks.
    • The ability to kneel / squat / climb as necessary to complete job related tasks.

    Working Conditions :

    Refrigerated environment - temperatures average 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
