Plant Superintendent jobs in Jamestown, NY
Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The ideal candidate should:- Be a creative thinker and problem-solver who is highly motivated and self-directed.
- Inspire and model highly visible educational leadership.
- Experience with employee relations and contract negotiations.
- Be an instructional leader with a strong curriculum background.
- Have strong collaboration skills that welcomes diverse viewpoints by building a sense of community in the schools.
- Be able to delegate and build internal leadership capacity.
- Be able to build trust and inspire staff.
- Have a sense of humor.
- Have thorough understanding and experience with all phases of capital construction projects.
- Be a veteran district leader that has taught and or administrated successfully in various positions of growing responsibility.
- Understand financial and business functions in a district of this size.
- Be accountable to themselves and hold others accountable.
- Have effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possess strong human relations skills, credibility, honesty, and leadership skills.
- Have proof of required certification (SDA or SDL).
Residency is not required, however regular engagement and a strong presence in the school community is expected.

Not less than $165,000
