Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Gem State Staffing is immediately hiring a Plant Operator for a full time, permanent position in American Falls. This role includes running various food equipment, food prep, and food safety.
Qualifications:
– Experience in food plant preferred
– Must have high school education or equivalent
– Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check (no recent felonies)
– Ability to work in a fast paced environment and move around most of the shift
– Ability to move up to 50 LBS frequently
– Have own reliable transportation to and from work
– Be able to work weekends and fill in other shifts as needed
– Must be able to work a 12 hour shift
Job duties include:
– Will work in production line according to production schedule
– Inspect all materials for cleanliness and integrity. Report any issues before processing.
-Documentation as required in all aspect of job duties.
– Learn and train all roles required at the plant (mixing, bagging, forklift, container loading)
– Operate processing equipment as outlined in SOP’s
– Maintain facility cleanliness throughout all operations.
– Perform Quality Control while handling products.
– Accurately document tasks performed (processing, maintenance, cleaning, etc.)
– Responsible for reporting Safety/food safety problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line.
– Maintain all current training’s.
– Comply with all Food Safety Guidelines, FDA and OSHA guidelines as well as federal and state laws governing the workplace. Perform other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently.
