The Wastewater Treatment Superintendent is responsible for managing the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, lift stations, and stabilization ponds as well as the supervision, training, and development of plant staff. Work involves ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Work is performed independently with considerable latitude and independence in decision-making. The position also has significant financial accountabilities involving budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for all aspects of the treatment plant. This role involves the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment systems and may include the operation of light and heavy equipment. This position is also accountable for the supervision and management of assigned staff, organizational planning, management of contracted services and the deployment of internal and external resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Five or more years related experience, including leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Wastewater Operator Class D
• Valid state issued driver's license and satisfactory driving record
