Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Title: Project Superintendent
Reports To: General Superintendent
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is accountable for providing project support to Scott Bridge Company, Inc. The Project Superintendent reports to the General Superintendent and directs field activities through the General Foreman and/or Foreman who report to this position. Typically, this individual will work closely with General Superintendent, General Foreman, Project (Field) Engineer, Safety Representative, Boat Captain, Pile Drivers, Welders, Carpenters, Helpers, Laborers and other skilled or semi-skilled craft workers on the work site.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of eight (8) years construction experience or equivalent experience in a supervisory capacity. Incumbents must be well-versed in receiving and handling of equipment used for construction operations. In addition, incumbents must have knowledge of the integration of various crafts to successfully perform their work. Craft knowledge should include pile driving, crane operations, welding, carpentry, sandblasting, pipefitting, painting and related areas. Incumbents should also possess previous supervisory experience and be certified in First Aid and CPR.
