Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Must have a minimum of five years manufacturing supervision. An individual with a four-year college degree preferred but will consider relevant training and experience. Must have computer skills such as Word, Excel and other Microsoft products. The ability to analyze data, comprehend management reports, interpret blueprints and other production related data is required. Candidate will need to work extended hours into the evening or days and weekends as required. Must have excellent verbal communication skills as well as good written skills. Successful candidate must be a decision maker that can seek input and make knowledgeable decisions.
