Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining our Heidelberg 6 color SM74 with coater. This is a crucial role in our organization, and we are entering a very busy time for our shop.
We are locally owned commercial print and wide-format shop: digital, inkjet, conventional offset, mailing and sign work.
We are looking for a first shift operator long term but for a span of about 4 months we need you to be willing to work 2nd shift.
In addition to running the SM74, running an inkjet press and envelope printer when needed is part of the workflow. Helping out in bindery when needed it part of the job as well.
Duties:
- Set up and operate presses according to job specifications
- Monitor press operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Make adjustments to press settings as needed
- Load and unload materials onto the press
- Perform routine maintenance on the press, such as cleaning and lubricating
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the printing process
- Keep the facilities manager in the loop if there are any bigger mechanical issues
- Work well with the team
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating printing presses, including knowledge of different press types (e.g., offset, digital)
- Strong understanding of printing processes
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications
