We are hiring for the role of kitchen expeditor/back waiter at a private, members-only club located in Carmel, NY. This is a part-time opportunity, with shift requirements in the off season (September-May) about 15-20 hours a week and in season (June-August) about 25-30 hours a week (may be opportunity for more in different areas if interested). Our dining room is open year-round, Friday and Saturday nights off season and Wednesday-Saturday nights in season. In addition to a la carte service, we also host special events throughout the year with buffets, food stations, and some plated meals.
Requirements
-Must have some previous experience in back of house environments and the expeditor/food runner roll
-Looking for an exceptionally organized person who can read restaurant chits and communicate to kitchen staff and the executive chef confidently and effectively
-Have no issue working in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
-Possess strong customer service skills and be able to deliver food accurately to guests
-In addition to the expediting roll, we are looking to find someone who is willing to help with event setups, room sets, and furniture moving before service
-Be a team player who is willing to step in and help with whatever needed in all facets of food and beverage operations on campus
Responsibilities
-Run the expo line in the kitchen: Be responsible for organizing chits as they print, call orders to the chef line and salad prep, and ensure each plate is accurate with correct condiments according to the chit before delivering to the guests
-Must develop a close working relationship with our executive chef and his team and be able to dictate orders out loud as needed on busy nights
-Be able to run food out to the dining room as necessary and serve guests in a polite manner
-Help Food & Beverage manager set up for special events: move tables and chairs, set up buffets/food stations, vacuum, etc.
