Scope - Assume responsibility for day-camp operations, including up to 6 camp counselors, and up to 40 children, aged K through 5th grade. Manage campers, member-families, logistics, and camp staff in an upscale member-club-environment. As director, you're the go-to person for all things camp, and you're supported with professionals in other disciplines of U-Club operations. U-Club Kidz Camps are week-long summer recreation themed day-camps that run Monday - Friday beginning the week of June 17th with the week of July 4th off.
You'll work in a refined atmosphere with exemplary levels of personal service in a member-oriented resort-style complex. Pre-camp meetings and training (weekend or evenings) will occur in May.
Duties - The Camp Director works with a team of counselors to implement pre-planned themes and daily activities utilizing age-appropriate child development standards. Prepare weekly schedules, adapting in real time, to create memorable, well-executed camp experiences. Utilize best practices to foster a high-quality camp experience befitting the quality of the U-Club while ensuring safety and compliance with state regulations. Mentor staff, manage camper information, communicate with parents, address behavior management, conduct training, maintain camp policies, record keep, and revise and implement standard operating procedures.
Qualifications - Minimum one-year professional experience working with elementary-aged children in an education or childcare setting. Must be:
