Justagame is looking to expand and significantly improve our club basketball teams, skill training, camps, and sports performance training. We need a talented and experienced leader to help refine and execute our vision.With our current 6-court facility in Wisconsin Dells and the newly opening Justagame Reedsburg, which will have 5 courts in Reedsburg just 20 min from our Dells location, we have the opportunity to build a special program.We're looking for someone with unique set of abilities and interests. Applicants must be wildly passionate about basketball, developing players, and mentoring/developing coaches. Recruiting dedicated high quality and high character coaches will be vital to the success of our program as we move into the future. We're looking for a "coaches coach" who is a bit of a throwback and believes in fundamentals and time-tested strategies. See the end of this description for more on our vision.Ideally we are looking to add this position as a full-time member of our staff, but would consider someone in a fractional role if there is a great fit.Ideal candidates include, but are not limited to:
- Current high school head coaches with a demonstrated history of success looking for a career change. We would happily support you keeping your HS coaching job.
- Current college head or assistant coaches who are looking for something a little less demanding on their time while staying around the game.
- Former collegiate/professional players who have stayed around the game since their playing career ended.
Responsibilities:- Face of the program. Must act as an ambassador for Justagame at all turns. Build lasting relationships with coaches, players and families.
- Provide input on program philosophy, messaging, marketing strategy.
- Form deep relationships with the high school and youth programs in our area. We should be the first choice for young athletes in the greater Wis. Dells and Reedsburg area.
- Recruit, vet, hire, and mentor coaches.
- Oversee and run tryouts.
- Total program administration. Practice and tournament scheduling. Uniform ordering. Ensure accurate and timely communication with all coaches, teams, families. Other FT JAG staff will help with this where needed.
- Ethical player recruiting/program marketing. Largely through word of mouth, email, phone, talking to HS coaches.
- Assist all coaches with roster creation.
- Run skill/workout sessions during the season that are made available to all players.
- Coach one or two of our higher level teams.
- Organize and oversee a full slate of skill development, camps, and additional basketball programming throughout the year.
- Create a consistent/cohesive program throughout all teams.
- Support and “coach” other JAG Select coaches as needed - be on the bench with other teams to be visible and offer support without overstepping.
- Active on social media to promote program/skill development, player highlights, program successes, etc.
- In the off-season the director will assist in promoting and growing Justagame's basketball tournament offerings/entries.
