We are seeking a highly organized and energetic Director of Events to oversee all aspects of event planning and execution. If you describe yourself as adaptive, creative, analytic, and a self-starter, then we would love to hear from you!
The Director of Events will be responsible for managing event contracts and deposits, creating BEOs, developing exciting menu offerings as well as managing food and beverage costs and managing staff to ensure the successful execution of each event.
Duties:
- Work alongside the Director of Sales to complete event contracts and collect deposits.
- Collect deposits and payments from event hosts and process through the POS system (Club Caddie)
- Communicate with event hosts via email, phone calls and in-person to discuss questions and details prior to their event, as well as on the event day
- Collaborate with hosts to come up with floorplans, linen orders and work within budgets
- Manage club budgets, including food and beverage costs, labor costs, and ensuring financial objectives are met
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to secure necessary services and equipment for events
- Oversee event setup and teardown, ensuring that all elements are in place according to the event plan
- Develop and implement event marketing strategies to promote events and attract attendees
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits for each event
- Supervise event staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations during events
Experience:
- Associates degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or similiar Required, Bachelor's preferred
- 1 year minimum working as an event manager, or similar position
- 1 year minimum of managing 5 or more people
- Golf or Country Club experience preferred
- Catering or Restaurant experience preferred
- ServSafe and Alcohol Serving Certifications preferred
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Budgeting experience with the ability to manage financial resources effectively
- Proficient in event marketing strategies to drive attendance and engagement
- Ability to work alone, as well as with a team
- Marketing experience (Social Media & Canva) a plus!
