Identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools. Being a Plumber complies with all required safety, building code and inspection requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and other instructions. Additionally, Plumber has completed required apprenticeship. Typically requires a high school diploma. Requires Journeyman Plumber status. Requires a State License for plumbing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plumber works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Summary

    • As a journeyman plumber, you will support commercial construction projects by installing plumbing systems.
    • Project locations include the gulf coast region. 

    Job Duties

    • Commercial plumbing installation from underground/rough-ins, stack out to trim outs on large scale commercial construction projects
    • Install hangers and supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures before installation for water, gas, compressed air, medical gas, or other liquids.
    • Interpret blueprints and building specifications required for each job site.
    • Use of copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX and other piping.
    • Duties could include setting grease traps, decontamination tanks, oil interceptors, lint interceptors, and utility hook ups, etc. 

    Requirements

    • 4 years of commercial plumbing experience
    • Journeyman plumbing license, preferred 
    • Medical gas certification, preferred
    • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
    • Possess hand tools and trade specific tools
    • Ability to direct the work of a helper or apprentice
    • OSHA 10 hour (company will provide, if needed)
    • Able to work from ladders and man lifts from various heights and operate equipment as needed
    • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up-to 50 lbs. 

    General Requirements

    • Ability to pass a full background screening, MVR and drug screening
    • Ability to pass a physical ability test
    • Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedule (including weekends, as required by project).
    • Willingness to travel along the gulf coast and south Georgia, as needed, for projects.
