Plumber jobs in Columbia, SC
Plumber inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures and piping in heating, water and drainage systems. Identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools. Being a Plumber complies with all required safety, building code and inspection requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and other instructions. Additionally, Plumber has completed required apprenticeship. Typically requires a high school diploma. Requires Journeyman Plumber status. Requires a State License for plumbing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plumber works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience ability to earn monthly performance-based bonuses commission plan
Work Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, on-call schedule for weekends & evenings, some overtime as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of plumbing field service and installation experience
- Impeccable customer service
- Willing to invest in tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Plumbing trade school certificate
- Journeyman plumbing license
